The short-term Magpies manager Joe Kinnear recently added fuel to the burning rumour that Alan Shearer and Kevin Keegan were set to form a managerial double act at St James' Park, however one part of this potential duo has not taken any time in stating his lack of desire for this job.

When asked if the reports held truth, Shearer told on Match of the Day:

"None whatsoever, I don't know where that's come from at all. Don't know what they're talking about."
